Yes! Corbett Chiropractic and Sports Injury Clinic were one of the first Chiropractic clinics in the country chosen by the NHS to treat patients under a new scheme. For full details and conditions please see our NHS Treatment page
Every person’s treatment plan is different and your chiropractor should be able to give you an idea of how many treatments you will need after the initial consultation. Some factors that influence how many treatments you will require include:
- The type of condition you have
- How long you have had it
- How severe the condition is
- If you follow the rehabilitative advice and maintenance visit recommended by the chiropractor
We are very happy for family members, partners and friends to be present in the consulting room at any time.
Our chiropractors are recognised by most health insurance companies including BUPA, AXA/PPP, Norwich Union, BHSF and many others. Most insurance schemes will reimburse chiropractic fees. Some are ‘open access’ (no referral necessary) and others require either GP or consultant referral before your fees for chiropractic care can be claimed. Please contact your insurance provider for information regarding the reimbursement or fees.
Chiropractic treatment is remarkably safe if carried out by a qualified practitioner. Skilled spinal manipulation should not be painful. Your chiropractor is trained to recognise conditions which require referral elsewhere and can treat you after surgery
Our Chiropractors can treat the following:
- Spine, Neck and Shoulder Problems
- Headaches and Migraines
- Whiplash Injuries
- Joint, Posture and Muscle problems
- Leg Pains and Sciatica
- Trapped Nerves
- Sports Injuries
- Injuries at Work
- Pregnant Women, Babies and Children
- Preventative Care
Although we do not have x-ray facilities on site, all our chiropractors are fully trained to take and read x-rays. If the chiropractors feels x-rays are necessary these can be arranged quickly through your GP or local hospital. We can also provide direct referrals to private x-ray, MRI and CT facilities
We provide a number of treatments, including:
- Spinal manipulation
- Spinal mobilisation techniques
- Myofascial trigger point work
- Acupuncture
- Ultrasound
- Home exercise programmes
- Ergonomic advice
- Soft tissue techniques
- X-ray and MRI Referral if required
When two surfaces of the joint are moved apart rapidly, as happens in a chiropractic adjustment, there is a chance of pressure in the joint space. This may sometimes cause a bubble of gas to ‘pop’ – but this sound is not significant and does not hurt. Skilled spinal manipulation should not be painful.
