NHS Chiropractic Service

nhs chiropractor cornwall

Drs Nigel and Rebecca Corbett, the husband-and-wife team of chiropractors and owners of Corbett Chiropractic and Sports Injury Clinics are thrilled to be one of the first Chiropractic clinics in the country chosen by the NHS to treat patients under a new scheme. This wonderful opportunity for Cornish residents means that local people may be entitled to NHS chiropractic treatment for the following conditions:

  • Whiplash
  • Stiffness and restricted movement
  • Headaches
  • Neck Pain
  • Low Back Pain
  • Degenerative Pain/Wear and tear
  • Postural related Neck and Back pain

Back pain is something that most people will experience at some point in their life and this is a fantastic chance for Cornish residents to return back to health.

Chiropractic is a primary health-care profession that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and overall management of conditions that are due to problems with the joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves, especially related to the spine. Chiropractic treatment mainly involves safe, gentle, specific spinal manipulation to free joints in the spine that are not moving properly.

Apart from manipulation, chiropractors may use a variety of techniques including acupuncture as well as offer advice about posture and lifestyle.

Many back pain sufferers can be treated with a short course of chiropractic care to help loosen the spine and associated muscles.

With back pain being a leading reason for time off work and 80 per cent of the population suffering with lower back pain at some point in their life – this is undeniably a real opportunity for the residents of Cornwall to experience a new type of treatment that they previously may have found unaffordable.

In order to be eligible for NHS chiropractic treatment you must have back or neck pain that began within the last 12 months; you must live in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly, be registered with a GP and be older than 16 years. A GP referral is necessary. For more information contact your GP or give us a call on 01872 274187.
